Cat Jumps Out

and startles our protagonist, which is understandable given the circumstances, and may explain, in part, why in the sequel, 57 years later, this same cat, affectionately called a “little shit-head,” stays behind which was just fine with everybody.

Unscary Villain/Monster

Family functions in a completely normal cul-de-sac.

Actually, keep the footage grainy.

They replaced an actual golden retriever with a CGI monster golden retriever to sell baked beans

and no one is happy.
